Advent of Indies: The Fabulous Screech / TSWCE

The Advent of Indies is an advent calendar which instead of chocolates or similar goodies features indie games: a free one and a commercial one per day. So this is your chance to win one of several free copies of The Sea Will Claim Everything. If you don’t have the game yet, go put your name on the list!

The free game is The Fabulous Screech, and for this occasion I’ve decided to release a downloadable version of the game. It’s still pretty much the same as the original, with only a few minor adjustments, but I think playing the game without all the visual distractions of a browser is a much better experience.

Great news, thanks! To have a downloadable version is much better than playung in a browser.
But to tell the truth, I am still waiting for the updated version of ‘The Strange and Somewhat Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge’ in order to start all ‘Lands of Dream’ joy in proper sequence and without changing OS. Bob the Spider used to foretell its release first in 2011, and then in 2012… Any news please :) ?

Ha! I sort of download all of the flash games I think are worth downloading (thanks, Firefox) and your games obviously qualify. I play them on an independent flash browser, exactly to avoid all the ads and crap in Newgrounds and such.

Still, I wonder about those minor changes. Are those just for compatibility purposes, or are there any actual changes in the game?

No, they’re just changes for the sake of prettiness and typo destruction. And the game now runs in fullscreen (with a black border), which is a nicer way of experiencing the story.

I wish I could work on it! The problem is that unlike Screech, I’d have to recreate Desert Bridge from the bottom up, and that is way more work. (Same with The Museum of Broken Memories.) At the moment I simply cannot afford to spend the time required to do that. Maybe if my next big game does better financially…
