News from Jonasland

Now with bullet points:

  • It appears I may be writing an article of the kind where you actually get paid. About games. This is very cool. More when the time comes.
  • The Infinite Ocean is finished and waiting for music.
  • I’ve installed a personal wiki on my computer to help me keep track of the complexities of my novel.
  • I’ve done a lot of Nexus City writing lately, and the results are making me happy. This is going to be one hell of a game.
  • I once again have short stories queueing for the attention of editors.
  • Unfortunately, I’ve also spent the last few days suffering from an absurd toe pain, then being sick from eating The Devil’s Banana Custard, and finally being incapacitated by back pains. And to think I was in such good shape in the summer.

    Hope you get well soon.

Which Wiki are you using ? I have been using Zim Desktop Wiki a bit and know a writer using that one.

    have fun . . .

  2. You know, you could always use the music file from the old version of Ocean. I did like it a lot.

  3. @babylonlurker: In typical Jonas fashion, I am using a pre-1.0 bit of software that hasn’t been updated in two years: Wiki in a jar. But it’s small and lightweight and runs in my browser, and that appeals to me.

@Wolfgang: I could only do that if the musician responded to my email about working out a license arrangement. He hasn’t.

  4. Get well soon. Also, get paid soon.

Awaiting the repainted Infinite Ocean, also quite enjoyed Gregory Weirs “the Day”.
Would also like to recommend something, if you have not tried it before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iw-88h-LcTk

  6. The Day is indeed excellent, as is I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream – to which The Infinite Ocean is, on some level, a kind of response. Or perhaps you could call it an inversion of Ellison’s story.

Oh well, at least being ill doesn’t seem to have slowed you down too much!

Just wanted to say I’m excited about the Flash version of the Infinite Ocean — I’ve been longing to play some of your games on my Mac for a while.
