seems that there's definitily something wrong with this version.. on my 1.6hz core duo laptop with 1Gb RAM, game runs really slow (and i have to wait about 2-3 minutes before game start), and consumes about 500Mb of RAM, which is really weird considering simple "2D platformer" game style and lo-fi graphics.

Well, everyone's computer is different. I seem to have a massive problem with the Crashing, but it's bearable.

Still, I'm playing through and Loving it.

As for the Save file, I just looked in the one titled "Save" and assumed that was it. I was kind of angry considering I had gotten up to a point, only to have the save go bad.

On Double checking, I have noticed the proper save file.

Hmmm. That's weird and bad.

(BTW, the file "Save1.ini" is not actually a save file.)

Not sure why this is reoccuring so much. I didn't have this crash in ages, and it ran fine for dozens upon dozens of times, both on my computer and Verena's.

Sigh...

Sorry if I don't make much sense, but the save worked from the In-game menu (not the Main Menu). Then I exited and reattempted to access it from both locations only to have it not function from anywhere.

So I scrapped the save and started a new game. Now it works, so just consider the "Random Crash when switching Screens" to have wider effects then previously mentioned. Sometimes it might bork the save (If it happens directly after).

OK, it seems that the Crash deleted the Save game completely even though there is proof of its existence in the INI's.

I'm currently using Windows XP. It does seem to be the "Random Crash" as it just happens during the switch between screens.

Also it seems that the Save/Load system doesn't function from the Main Menu. I saved a game after completing the initial objectives, then the game crashed.

Looking through the Save1.ini seems to prove that the save exists, but it only works if I Start a new game and then load from there.

<blockquote>Phenomenon 32 Downloaded. Install Successful. Introduction movie watched. Starting game…(Game Crash). Switching to “Win 2000 Compatibility mode”…Game start successful.</blockquote>

What version of Windows are you using?

Also - this may be the infamous "random crash when going from one screen to another." If it is, just restarting usually works too.

OK, Just giving an update on the above crash.

It seems to be after watching the small cut-scene when one starts a new game. Before the game has a chance to load fully it crashes. Skipping the cutscene (Pressing Escape) seems to jump past the crash, but it also might cause it. Rather odd.

As for the Compatibility settings, it worked twice and then the crash appeared again so just disregard that fix.

A little rocky start there on my PC, but I think I got it working. Just so everybody knows, if it fails to load and subsequently crashes after starting a new game just reset to the Above Compatibility and retry.
