I'm really happy I found this game! (through TIGsource)
It's quite hard to find masterpieces like this on the internet these days.
I'm an indie game developer too and I have suffered from the same problem. When you work on something for YEARS, it's really painful when you get no attention at the end :<
It's frustrating, imagine how many great indie developers gave up making games when nobody noticed them.

Great work as usual, and it will soon be listed on Mobygames as soon as the submission is approved... adding, hopefully, to the "long tail" of people coming across and enjoying indie-developed games in retro idioms 8)

I think that this would have garnered a lot of attention (well, to a few hundred more people) had it been entered in the annual RAIF interactive fiction competition. It is true that it starts with two strikes against it as a non-platform-independent executable without a text parser, but the design and writing (both at the top of your game) would have impelled some people to sit up and take note and demand others give it a second look.

most people are just too busy or too lazy to try something that doesn’t promise them candies and balloons, we’re living in the pragmatic age, after all.

But this game does have candy! A lot of candy! No balloons, though, so I guess it's bound to fail.

By the way, your game is interesting even if I still think that Infinite Ocean is your masterpiece.

At least you didn't say Last Rose, which would put you on the list of people to be tortured with... OK, I tried every combinatation of disgusting materials I could think of, and every one of them seems to exist as a real recipe. Watermelon with mustard? Clearly the universe is heading for disaster.

I'm glad you like The Infinite Ocean. I like it too, though I think I could have done a much better job writing it.

Keep on doing like that, as long as it gives you something. I heard about your last game by checking your blog, and that's the point... you need some good reviews, or banners in other indipendent developers home page, to be linked and so on... but you know about that. By the way, your game is interesting even if I still think that Infinite Ocean is your masterpiece.

sad but true, that's how it usually is, speaking of indie projects. most people are just too busy or too lazy to try something that doesn't promise them candies and balloons, we're living in the pragmatic age, after all.
but a work of true creativity will find its way to the hearts of open-minded people, slowly but surely.
"The Desert Bridge" will certainly do.
